home, sweet home.
where i am from, the fireflies kiss the deep night sky and the mountains sing harmonies as the sun rises each morining. the grass radiates an aroma of sweet, earthy tones and the weeds glimmer in the dusk. the pinoak trees drop acorns; the squirrels run freely from tree to tree, frolicking and gossiping with each chirp of their mouths. in the valleys, secrets are whispered by the rustling of the turning leaves in a language foreign and majestic as the rivers' babbling mournful stories for reasons unknown to man.
nightmares.the shadows are watching you with onyx black eyes. their reflections replay the memories that you try to supress into the deep chasms of your consciousness. as you sleep, their suffocating bodies intrude your dreams and fill your lucid hallucinations with images of anger and violence. you try to scream, but the thunderous explosions in your delusion arrest the intonation before it can be expressed. you fearfully awaken to find an empty, dark room with no sign of infection. sparks of lightning ribbon across the night sky and you doze back to your restless slumber.
